Why is this site here?
Just as soon as we get around to writing it, that one’s going to be a whole page unto itself…

Why do some items look like they were posted before this site even existed?
We gather information from all across the web, news and print media.  Sometimes this means pulling information that may have been published months or even years ago.  Whenever possible, we try to back date the information to its original date of publication.  Due to the way that the software which powers this site works, this makes searching for period-specific articles much easier to do.

Do all those authors really work here?
No, they don’t.  It would be rather nice if they did (it would mean that we have a lot more money than we do) but a whole lot of what we post here is gathered from other media — such as newspapers, magazines, professional conferences, press releases, etc.  The reason you see so many names listed as authors is because, well, they did write the stuff, so they deserve the credit.  Right?

How can I link to this site?
You can find that information (along with some code for your website) on this page.

How can I advertise here?
GOR’s advertising policies can be found on this page.

Okay, I registered but now I can’t log in.  Why not??
The most common reason for not being able to log in is having forgotten to put the “www.” in front of the “gunownersresource.com” in the address.  Yes, it’s a bit of a pain, but we like to keep our site security tight.

Where are the cartridge diagrams?
In order to prevent the site from becoming intolerably bloated with duplicate information and files, all firearm and ammunition diagrams, schematics and other images are stored in the Online Encyclopedia.  Simply search for the cartridge that you want information on and go to the article.

Please bear in mind that the Encyclopedia is an ongoing venture, with many people undertaking the monumental task of compiling knowledge of almost every firearm and cartridge imaginable and, as you can imagine, such an endeavor takes time.  So the information that you’re looking for may not be there… yet.
