A Little over a week ago now, Daniel Defense  issued a recall that includes Daniel Defense firearms manufactured between April 1, 2016 and March 3, 2017:

Daniel Defense is committed to the highest level of quality and safety. In keeping with that commitment we are issuing a safety notification related to a condition we identified with the Disconnector in the Fire Control Group. This safety notification applies to certain firearms manufactured between April 1, 2016 and March 3, 2017. In a few cases, a double fire condition has occurred with a single pull of the trigger. In the Company’s spirit to always do the right thing, Daniel Defense will correct any and all potential conditions at no cost to the consumer as part of our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee.

If you think you own a gun that’s affected by the recall, don’t phone them up and clog the lines: use the serial number check on their website here, and find out if it affects you or not.

The safety concern comes from a few cases of a double-fire when the trigger is pulled for a single shot. There have not been wide reports of disconnectors failing, but you should still check your firearm’s serial number. If you own an affected rifle, Daniel Defense asks that you stop using the rifle immediately and follow the instructions on the safety site posted above.

Daniel Defense states in the recall notification that they have a commitment to a high level of quality as well as ensuring the shooter’s safety. The repairs to the affected firearms will be performed at no cost to the owner as part of their 100% satisfaction guarantee.
